Earl T. Martin, 93, previously of 9807 Meadow Rock Drive in Hagerstown and a recent resident of Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.

 
Born on December 5, 1916, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles C. and Carrie A. (Lung) Martin.
 
His wife of 61 years, Emma S. (Ambrose) Martin, preceded him in death in 2001.
 
Earl worked most of his life as a self employed Farmer.  He was employed with New York Central Ironworks for 5 years and later retired in 1981 from Grove Manufacturing after 6 years of service.
 
He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Beaver Creek, Maryland.
 
He is survived by three sons, C. John Martin and his wife Linda of Winchester, Virginia, Earl Richard Martin and his wife Patricia of Hagerstown, Maryland and Gary L. Martin and his wife Rose of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Charles Martin and his wife Virginia of Beaver Creek, Maryland.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
Earl was preceded in death by his sister, Nellie Seward; his brother, J. Guy Martin; one grandson Jason Adam Martin; and one step great-grandson Jason William Presgraves.
 
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.  Rev. Blaine Feightner will officiate.  Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown, Maryland.
 
Friends are invited to visit the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
 
Memorial Donations may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Post Office Box 187, Keedysville, Maryland, 21756.
