Harold L. Wise, 73, of Hagerstown, died on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital.

Born on December 17, 1936 in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Roy M. and Estella (Jones) Wise.

In his early years, Harold worked on his family's farm.  In 1978 he began working for the Washington County Board of Education in the Maintenence Department and retired in 1995.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his two sisters, Helen M. Wise and Joyce Turner and her husband Butch, all of Hagerstown.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wise was preceded in death by one sister, Annie Mae Palmer; and three brothers, Robert, William and Elvin Wise.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.  Rev. Ralph E. Jamison will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.

Friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Sunday, February 21, 2010 beginning at 9 a.m. where the family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m.
