Mildred L. "Millie" (Wachter) Fiery, 95, of Rolling Road in Hagerstown, passed peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at her daughter's home in Greencastle, Pennsylvania.

Born on June 17, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Worthington P. and Maude C. (Young) Wachter.

Her husband, Albert T. "Bud" Fiery preceded her in death on October 9, 1980.

Millie was a member of Haven Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.  She was a founding member of the Western Maryland Hospital Center Auxiliary and had received many awards for her volunteer service.  Most recently she was honored for 50 years of service.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynda F. and her husband Pastor S. Dwight Morgan of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; three grandsons, Pastor S. Scott Morgan and his wife Dawn of Hanover, Pennsylvania, D. Todd Morgan and his wife Laurie of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, and Roland T. Morgan of Hagerstown, Maryland and his friend Karen Sornson of Hancock, Maryland; one nephew, Paul Wachter, of Charleston, South Carolina; and one niece, Sally Ducker of Gainesville, Georgia.  She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Millie was preceded in death by her brother Samuel Wachter and her sister Evelyn Wachter.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.  Pastor S. Scott Morgan will officiate.  Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 as well as one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Western Maryland Hospital Center, 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, 21742.
